[Pokémon TCG] Magikarp Master Ball Mirror Is Somehow Better Unevolved (Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] 129/165)
The absolute irony that the Pokémon most known for being and specifically created to be "the worst Pokémon of all time" somehow actually remains better unevolved—at least in this TCG set.

Of all the Pokémon that it could’ve been, somehow the one Pokémon that ended up better unevolved among all those in the Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] Pokémon TCG expansion set was Magikarp. Such is the case, however, when the Gyarados card from that same set has already gone down as one of the worst busts in Pokémon TCG history.
The majority of this Magikarp card’s value stems from its status as a Master Ball Mirror print. This unique card background featuring the most powerful of all Poké Balls adds a layer of exclusivity to every card that possesses it, jacking up such cards’ value.
This card is actually more gameplay-viable than its evolution because at the very least its Splashy Splash attack allows the player to draw cards depending on the number of consecutive coin flips that turn up heads. Evolving this Magikarp into the Gyarados from the same set, however, forces the player to discard the top five cards of the deck.
In English, this card is card 129/165 of the 151 [MEW] expansion set.
One copy of a Magikarp Master Ball Mirror (Pokémon Card 151 [SV2a] 129/165) card sells for 7,500 JPY (~US$50).
