The adidas Crazy 98 Pays Homage With the “Lakers Away” Colorway
The silhouette makes a return after a 10-year hiatus.
The late Kobe Bryant’s career wasn’t just about basketball greatness; it was also about pushing the boundaries of sneaker design. Early in his NBA journey with adidas, Kobe helped create the iconic Crazy series.
A standout within the series is the adidas Crazy 98, originally known as the KB8 2. Remembered for its striking design and performance, the Crazy 98 is now back after a 10-year hiatus, this time in the “Lakers Away” colorway.
This shoe stays true to its roots, featuring classic materials like leather, mesh, and TPU. The upper is mostly Black, with bold Core White accents on the adidas Three Stripes logo. A touch of Collegiate Purple—the Lakers’ signature color—appears on the tongue and outsole. The design is completed with comfortable adiPRENE+ cushioning.
The adidas Crazy 98 “Lakers Away” releases on 13 April 2024, a significant date as it marks the anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s last NBA game in 2016. Get them at adidas brick-and-click stores. Price details are still under wraps, so stay tuned for more updates.
