League of Legends Taps NewJeans for Worlds 2023 Anthem “Gods”
Releasing 3 October.
If you identity yourself as both a gamer and a ‘Bunny’, then you’re in for some exciting news! Riot Games has officially partnered up with K-pop girl group NewJeans for the annual anthem of the League of Legends Worlds Championship.
Titled “Gods”, this song marks NewJeans as the first K-pop act to lead the Worlds anthem, and the third female group following (G)I-DLE and Twice to collaborate with Riot Games for LoL.
“It was a new experience for all of us”, said the members of NewJeans. “It was fun to try a new genre and sound. Through this collaboration, we are happy to present a song that incorporates both NewJeans’ and League of Legends’ unique colors. We hope it brings you a new sense of empowerment!”
Indulging in a bit of Bunnies action themselves, League of Legends has changed their official TikTok bio to 5 bunny emojis to tease this collaboration.
“Gods” will officially release on 3 October 10pm PST via major streaming platforms, a week before the esports tournament commences.
