ASICS Taps on Japanese Philosophy with GEL-Lyte V “Godai” Collection
Fire, water, earth, void and wind.
Shortly after news broke that Concepts and ASICS are working together again on the GEL-Lyte V “Libertea”, it seems that the Japanese shoemakers are now going back to their roots. Tapping into Japanese philosophy, ASICS presents the GEL-Lyte V “Godai” Collection.
“Godai” represents the five great elements in Japanese Buddhist thought, namely earth, water, fire, wind, and void. These five elements are thus represented in five different colorways of the ASICS GEL-Lyte V.
All five color schemes contain the same construction. A mesh base, lined with suede overlays, and topped off with leather tongues and a nubuck heel tab. Each pair also features a special Japanese coin lace dubrae, each reflective of its colorway’s element.
