New Balance are best associated with the color grey, even celebrating it with last month’s “Grey Day 2023”. While their contemporaries are keeping up with the vibe of the summer with polychromatic releases, they’re staying in their own lane going the other direction, introducing a more neutral palette with their forthcoming releases.

Case in point: This “Black” dressing of the 580. The pair is mostly clad in black suede and mesh, intentionally lacking any pastel or vibrant tropes. Details, such the “N” logo, laces, and outsole, are all finished in a similar shade, giving contrast to the sporadic appearances of white and grey.
