The Houston Comets, one of the original eight WNBA teams, pulled off a 4-peat by winning the first four championships after the league’s inauguration. To celebrate and honor the historical event, Nike is releasing a series of footwear dedicated to the WNBA team. We’ve previously seen an Nike Air Force 1 Low, and now an Air Force 1 Mid “Houston Comets” is set to join the lineup.

The Air Force 1 Mid in essence flips the script when it comes to its color choices. While white was the main choice on the Low, navy is the go-to on the Mid. University Red arrives on the Swooshes and heel detailing, while white is used to outline the Swoosh as well as on the midsole. Similar to its Low counterpart, the years in which the Comets achieved their 4-peat is detailed on the heel tab, while the same embroidered four-finger motif finds its place towards the heel.
