Verdy Unveils Exclusive Coachella Collection
Also named this year's artist-in-residence.
Verdy is reaching unparalleled levels of recognition on a global scale, if he hasn’t already. Recently, he’s had collaborations with the likes of Beats by Dr. Dre and Nigo’s Human Made, and also put his creative touch on G-Dragon’s PEACEMINUSONE x Nike Kwondo 1 “Panda” via an FNF Jacket.
To add to his long list of achievements, Verdy was recently announced as Coachella’s artist-in-residence for this year’s festival. Scheduled to take place over two weekends between 14-16 and 21-23 April, this year’s Coachella will feature the likes of Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK and Frank Ocean as headline acts.
The Osaka-based creative saw his handiwork displayed in the limelights when Coachella revealed a billboard with his artwork in California. In the same Instagram post, the music festival also announced that Verdy will release an exclusive collection on-site, which has now been unveiled by Verdy himself.
The collection will involve a series of apparel and accessories, all dressed up in Verdy’s signature Girls Don’t Cry logo and cartoon character, Vick. Just like the apparel collection he made for the Girls Don’t Cry x Beats by Dr. Dre Flex earbuds, this exclusive capsule will also involve baby-sized tees.
Interestingly, in the caption of the post, the designer mentioned that the current apparel on display was part of a “week 1 collection”, which perhaps points towards the possibility of a different set of offerings come 21 April. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated.
