Through his iconic graphic designs and laid-back peace signs on Instagram, Verdy is undoubtedly one of the hottest entities when it comes to Japanese designers. Through some of his labels such as Girls Don’t Cry, Wasted Youth, and Vick, the youthful designer has become somewhat of a streetwear icon on a global scale.

This time around, Verdy will see his distinguished heart-shaped motif applied to Beats by Dre’s Flex earbuds. This isn’t the first time Beats has tapped on popular Japanese designers either, with the audio company recently coming off of a similar collaboration with WACKO MARIA at the tail end of 2022.

The Girls Don’t Cry x Beats Flex comes in a full baby blue outfit, with the Tokyo-based label’s red esteemed script logo contrasting on the wireless earbuds’ control module. A detachable red heart charm comes separately in the packaging, allowing one to freely decide where it can go on the earphones.

“I’m really happy to work on the Beats Flex earphones because it’s my wife’s favorite style,” said Verdy. He also mentioned that while they previously worked on an exclusive friends-and-family-only version, he’s excited to finally release one to the public.

The Girls Don’t Cry x Beats Flex will come with magnetic earbuds and up to 12 hours of listening time. They will be available on 1 April via Girls Don’t Cry and Dover Street Market in the US, UK, and Japan for US$69.99. Verdy will also be celebrating the launch by hosting a retail pop-up at Rise Above Gallery in Osaka.
