About Dominus Impulse (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP079)

After Dominus Impulse is activated, any opposing effect which involves Special Summoning a monster card will be negated. Notably, the effect of Dominus Impulse avoids triggering effects of cards such as Triple Tactics Talent which would otherwise counter it. The main decks in which Dominus Impulse is included are the Maliss, Tenpai, and Blue-Eyes decks.

Dominus Impulse is among the cards in Rage of the Abyss which has a Quarter Century Secret Rare version. It’s also the counterpart of Dominus Purge; in addition to their similar names, both cards have similar functions as well. Both can be activated from the player’s hand if the opponent controls a card to negate an effect, both are able to destroy negated cards if the player has a Trap card in the Graveyard, and both prevent the player from activating any effects of monster cards of three specific Attributes for the rest of the Duel if activated from the hand.
