[Pokémon TCG] Pecharunt (Super Electric Breaker [SV8] 078/106) [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
How about ending it right off the bat—before the opponent even has a chance to do anything?

Japanese player Ryuki Okada’s victory at the recent Pokémon Europe International Championships (EUIC) in London was notable for the fact that in both his wins in the best-of-3 final against Australian Natalie Millar, Okada did so via “donk”—beating his opponent on the first turn of play. One of the cards that made this scenario possible was the Pecharunt card from Super Electric Breaker [SV8].
About Pecharunt (Super Electric Breaker [SV8] 078/106)
Pecharunt is mainly played as part of the Klawf/Terapagos ex deck. Its Ability of Toxic Subjugation inflicts an additional 50 damage on the opponent’s poisoned Active Pokémon in addition to the 10 damage which the poisoned Pokémon would ordinarily suffer. This card is usually paired with Brute Bonnet from Ancient Roar [SV4K] because of Toxic Powder, Brute Bonnet’s Ability.
Toxic Powder poisons both the player’s and the opponent’s Active Pokémon. If the opponent has only one Pokémon in play, the combination of Toxic Subjugation and Toxic Powder could potentially be enough to clinch the W on the spot.
As far as this card’s collectability is concerned, however, it’s not particularly impressive. Coming at a rarity of Uncommon (U) and having a fairly ordinary illustration, this Pecharunt card is almost entirely known for its gameplay viability.
Release Details
The English version of this card is card 149 from the SVP Black Star Promos.
Owing to its lack of demand from collectors and low rarity, a Pecharunt (Super Electric Breaker [SV8] 078/106) card sells for a very low price—just 50 JPY (~US$0.34).
