The recent rise of the Klawf/Terapagos ex deck has been fueled by a strategy that’s seldom been seen in Pokémon TCG history—poison manipulation. This applies to both the player’s and opponent’s Pokémon. One of the main methods by which the deck manipulates poisoning to the player’s advantage is through the use of the Radiant Hisuian Sneasler card from Dark Phantasma [S10a].

Radiant Hisuian Sneasler’s Ability of Poison Peak forces the opponent’s Poisoned Active Pokémon to suffer an extra 20 damage during the Pokémon Checkup phase which occurs between both players’ turns. When used in tandem with the Brute Bonnet card from Ancient Roar [SV4K] which has the Ability of Toxic Powder—capable of poisoning both players’ Active Pokémon—the additional chip damage from the two Abilities can really add up.

Collectors might also be drawn to this card because like all Radiant Pokémon cards, Radiant Hisuian Sneasler features Hisuian Sneasler in its Shiny form. In addition, once again as is the case with its fellow Radiant Pokémon cards, this card comes in the exclusive rarity of K. The card’s illustration alludes to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the video game which is the prequel of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl; it shows Radiant Hisuian Sneasler standing on a cliff in the Coronet Highlands.
