Originally released as part of Night Wanderer [SV6a], Binding Mochi received a reprint when it was re-released as part of Terastal Festival ex [SV8a]. Although Item cards such as Binding Mochi didn’t receive a coveted Master Ball Mirror reprint, they did get the next best thing—a Poké Ball Mirror version.

About Binding Mochi Poké Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 154/187)

As implied by its name, the Poké Ball Mirror version of the Binding Mochi card is a mirror holofoil version of the card which features a Poké Ball print on its lower half. The card’s holofoil makes use of the same “cracked ice” design which is common to both Poké Ball Mirror and Master Ball Mirror cards. This version is also rarer than the ordinary Binding Mochi card, thus adding appeal to collectors.

This card is also an important piece of the Klawf/Terapagos ex deck. An important part of the deck’s strategy involves poisoning the Klawf card from Raging Surf [SV3a] in order to maximize the amount of damage that its Unhinged Scissors attack will land. Attaching Binding Mochi to a poisoned Klawf will increase the damage output of Unhinged Scissors by 40; with the assistance of additional damage modifiers in the deck, this enables Klawf to hit for a massive 240 damage with just one Double Turbo Energy card attached.

Release Details

There hasn’t yet been any information on whether Poké Ball Mirror cards will be printed in English.

Somewhat surprisingly, a copy of a Binding Mochi Poké Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 154/187) card is very affordable, coming in at just 210 JPY (~US$1.34).
