Until very recently, decks built around the Klawf card from Raging Surf [SV3a] had never been regarded as serious forces within the Pokémon TCG metagame. This, however, has begun to change; the Klawf/Terapagos ex deck has emerged as the newest meta-relevant deck—and this in turn has brought new attention to one of its two titular cards.

About Klawf (Raging Surf [SV3a] 031/062)

Klawf’s main attack is Unhinged Scissors. With the assistance of Double Turbo Energy from Star Birth [S9] as well as cards which have the capability to inflict Special Conditions on the player’s Active Pokémon, Klawf can dish out as much as 170 damage for just one Energy card. Although Klawf might not be the most durable Pokémon as it has just 120 HP, the relative simplicity of setting up Unhinged Scissors makes it especially useful for picking up early-game KOs.

Since this card isn’t particularly rare, coming in at a rarity of Uncommon (U), it’s a card which is primarily desired by players rather than collectors. That said, Klawf does have some in-universe canonical relevance because in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games, one of the giant-sized Titan Pokémon which the player battles is a massive Klawf in South Province (Area Three).

The English version of this card is card 105/182 from Paradox Rift [PAR].

A copy of a Klawf (Raging Surf [SV3a] 031/062) card isn’t expensive at all, selling for just 150 JPY (~US$0.99).
