Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye

Before the latest list of card bans and restrictions related to Yu-Gi-Oh TCG tournament play outside Japan and Asia-Pacific, Snake-Eye decks had at one point been among the most dominant in the entire metagame but had recently begun to fall off. Thus, Konami’s decision to ban the Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye card proved somewhat controversial.

About Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye (Age of Overlord AGOV-JP057)

The main idea behind the ban of the Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye card was to weaken the Snake-Eye decks, which at one point had run rampant across the meta. However, such decks had not only recently begun to decline in meta relevance; the cards that some felt ought to have been banned from those decks did not include Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye. Nevertheless, it’s not as though this card was struck with a ban for no reason, controversial as that reason may have been.

Original Sinful Spoils – Snake-Eye was banned to increase the difficulty of the bridging of Diabellstar the Black Witch, another Age of Overlord card, as well as that of Azamina Mu Rcielago from Rage of the Abyss, into Snake-Eye Ash from Age of Overlord.

This ban deals a blow to this deck’s consistency. Once, that level was regarded as unmatched in the meta; however, at this point, the deck has been surpassed by other decks, causing some to regard the ban as redundant. Some other players believe that the card that should’ve been banned was instead Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon from Age of Overlord.

Coming in a rarity of Rare, this card might not necessarily be the most expensive; however, its value is nonetheless elevated because it depicts a female character. Its new status as a banned card in tournament play outside the East will likely add to its value.
