The mecha-themed Centur-Ion card archetype had two new cards added to it from newly-released Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Core Booster Rage of the Abyss. Centur-Ion Primera Primus was by far the more coveted of the two.

This is one of the selected cards which can come in Quarter Century Secret Rare, the aptly-named rarity honoring 25 years of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG. Additionally, the holofoil which covers each Quarter Century Secret Rare card adds to the visual effect of this one because the holofoil and sparkles further bring out the metallic look of the character depicted.

Due to its theme, this card will have crossover appeal; those into mecha manga and anime might be drawn to this card and potentially use it as a “gateway” into Yu-Gi-Oh. There’s also continuity with existing cards because Centur-Ion Primera Primus is an upgraded Synchro form of Centur-Ion Primera combined with Centur-Ion Trudea; both are cards from the Centur-Ia Empire storyline.

This card’s English release will take place on 10 October 2024 alongside the rest of Rage of the Abyss.

A copy of a Quarter Century Secret Rare Centur-Ion Primera Primus (Rage of the Abyss ROTA-JP038) card costs 5,000 JPY (~US$33).
