[Pokémon TCG] Legacy Energy Takes Lugia VSTAR Decks to Another Level (Mask of Change [SV6] 101/101)
With this card, Cinccino becomes perhaps the most destructive "decoy" the Pokémon TCG has ever seen.
The recent release of Mask of Change [SV6] brought with it a major swing to the Pokémon TCG metagame—specifically, one regarding the Lugia VSTAR deck. Thanks to the Legacy Energy card that came with the set, the deck received a significant upgrade.
The Lugia VSTAR deck’s primary attacker is the Cinccino card from Wild Force [SV5K]. Its main means of dealing damage is its Special Roll attack which deals 70 damage per Special Energy attached. Since Legacy Energy is indeed a Special Energy card, it counts towards Cinccino’s damage output—one which under the right circumstances can become truly massive.
In addition, this ACE SPEC card ensures that the Pokémon to which it’s attached yields one less Prize card when KO’d. Since Cinccino is not a multi-Prize Pokémon, picking up a KO on a Cinccino with a Legacy Energy card attached will not yield any Prize cards, thus essentially turning Cinccino into no more than a decoy. This is particularly useful due to Cinccino’s low HP total of 110—it will likely be KO’d at some point over the course of the game.
Of course, it has to be noted that Legacy Energy is an ACE SPEC card. This means that a player may only place just one copy of this or any other ACE SPEC card in the deck.
The English version of this card will be card 167/167 in the Twilight Masquerade [TWM] set to be released on 24 May 2024.
One copy of a Legacy Energy card sells for 2,180 JPY (~US$14).
