There’s a case to be made that Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, the sequels to fifth-generation main series Pokémon video games Pokémon Black and White, are some of the most underrated entries in the franchise’s entire catalog.

To an extent, this is somewhat true of its characters—but certainly not Rosa, Black 2 and White 2’s female protagonist. Her Pokémon TCG card from seventh-generation set Dream League [SM11b] remains among the set’s leading pulls today.

As has often been the case, any card featuring a Full Art illustration of a female character is bound to draw much attention—this one is no different. On this Super Rare (SR) Supporter card’s illustration, Rosa is also shown brandishing a Poké Ball—perhaps a nod to her protagonist status in Black 2 and White 2.

From a visual standpoint, the card’s background full of sparkles and rays of light pairs perfectly with the holofoil covering the card, creating an eye-catching aesthetic effect.

Finally, though not quite at the level of cards featuring protagonists from even earlier generations, the nostalgia factor might be in play as well. It’s now been almost 12 years since the release of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2—easily long enough for those who played the games back then to develop “core memories” around them.

The English version of this card is 236/236 in the Cosmic Eclipse set.

A copy of a Rosa (Dream League [S11b] 067/049) card of SR rarity goes for 67,999 JPY (~US$438).
