From November 2023 to March 2024, BANDAI organized the BANDAI Card Games Fest 23-24 World Tour, a series of events held across nine different countries featuring BANDAI’s various TCG games including the ONE PIECE Card Game. The tour concluded in Tokyo in March 2024 to coincide with the ONE PIECE Card Game World Championships.

Like all such events, promotional items were distributed to attendees and participants. One such item was this promotional Monkey D. Luffy card. Depicting the series’ protagonist in his now-iconic Gear 5 form, this card was certainly fitting for the showpiece event of the ONE PIECE Card Game calendar—especially since it hadn’t been all that long since Gear 5 was revealed in the manga at that point in time.

The card’s image shows Luffy channeling the powers of Nika, the sun god of the One Piece universe, by tapping into the fully-awakened abilities of his Devil Fruit. The ethereal background further emphasizes the immense power which Luffy wields.

In the bottom-left corner of the card is the BANDAI Card Games Fest 23-24 World Tour logo, evidencing the fact that this card originates from the event.

A Monkey D. Luffy (Promotional Cards P-041) card has a price tag of 2,000 JPY (~US$13).
