[Pokémon TCG] Primed for Combat: Prime Catcher (Cyber Judge [SV5M] 062/071)
This card's already a staple of many tournament decks.
Item cards used for gusting have been staples of the Pokémon TCG metagame ever since the first generation. Like its predecessors, the Prime Catcher card from Cyber Judge [SV5M] has fit seamlessly into countless tournament decks and is capable of swinging the trajectory of the game as soon as it’s played.
Since Prime Catcher is an ACE SPEC card, just one copy of it (or any other ACE SPEC card) can be placed in a deck—but that’s all that is needed. This card allows the player to switch the opponent’s Active Pokémon as well as the player’s own on the same turn. Thus, by manipulating the Active Pokémon matchup, the player can force an advantageous situation to either kickstart a comeback or pull even further ahead.
Just as is the case with all ACE SPEC cards, Prime Catcher has a unique rarity of ACE. The italicized words “ACE SPEC” run along the edges of the card while the card itself has a dark pink background—both characteristics of ACE SPEC cards. The card’s illustration, meanwhile, depicts Prime Catcher itself in action, adding a sense of life and dynamism to the card.
The English version of this card is card 157/162 from the Temporal Forces [TEF] set.
One copy of a Prime Catcher (Cyber Judge [SV5M] 062/071) card sells for 2,800 JPY (~US$18).
