Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice

The Voiceless Voice deck archetype is currently among the most dominant in the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG metagame. Loaded with disruptive options, such decks are full of one-card combos, easily rebuild broken boards, and resist the majority of hand traps. One of the most important cards that makes such decks work is the Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice card from Phantom Nightmare.

The centerpiece of a Voiceless Voice deck, Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice can have up to 4100 ATK while also being able to negate opponents’ activations and destroy opponents’ cards in certain scenarios. When paired with the Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended card, the player gains access to an effect that can return Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice to the player’s hand for cost before summoning any Light Dragon or Warrior Ritual monster from the hand or deck.

Due to several restrictions placed on some cards of the previously meta-defining Fire King Snake-Eye deck archetype, this retrained Voiceless Voice counterpart of the Skull Guardian card has become particularly desired by many Yu-Gi-Oh TCG players seeking to pivot to a different deck archetype.

Available in the 25th anniversary-exclusive rarity of Quarter Century Secret Rare, this card’s illustration depicts its character wielding two swords while standing in front of a glass-like background. The character’s imposing appearance not only befits the card’s power; it also adds depth to the imagery, adding further visual appeal.

This card has been released in English.

The price of a Skull Guardian, Protector of the Voiceless Voice (Phantom Nightmare PHNI-JP037) is 3,480 JPY (~US$22).
