The release of the Eevee Heroes [S6a] Pokémon TCG expansion set was, as implied by its name, intended to spotlight Eevee and its eight evolutions. Though Glaceon hasn’t always been in the limelight when compared to some of the other Eeveelutions, this Glaceon V card from that set has recently seen a notable value spike.

What’s interesting about this Super Rare (SR) card’s Full Art illustration is the fact that its background contrasts, rather than matches, Glaceon V’s general aesthetic. The vivid red background at first glance doesn’t seem to go with the light blue Ice-type Eeveelution—but at the same time, it causes the Pokémon’s image to stand out further. This effect is amplified by the gold outline around Glaceon V.

Despite not having the sheer popularity of the likes of Sylveon or Umbreon, Glaceon is nonetheless an Eeveelution and therefore still ranks among the most popular Pokémon. Given the fact that this card’s rarity is relatively high and that it bears a Full Art illustration, it’s therefore unsurprising that demand for this card is surging.
