With effect from April 2024, all players in Yu-Gi-Oh TCG tournaments will be required to abide by the latest set of card restrictions for official tournament play. Konami has altered the playability status of 15 cards in total to better reflect the cards’ current effects on the metagame.

While no cards have been completely banned, three have been moved to the restricted category, meaning that among all of a player’s registered tournament decks, only one can contain such cards. These three cards are WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils, There Can Be Only One, and Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls.

Notably, one of these three cards has been taken off the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG’s tournament blacklist and is thus now allowed in tournament play, albeit in a more limited role. This card is Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls.

Six cards are now semi-restricted, meaning that each official tournament deck may contain a maximum of two copies of each card on the semi-restricted list. These cards are Ib the World Chalice Justiciar, S:P Little Knight, Fire King Avatar Kirin, Snake-Eye Ash, Kaiser Colosseum, and Pot of Extravagance.

All but one of these cards had previously been unrestricted but have since been placed on the list to prevent further metagame overcentralization. The exception is Ib the World Chalice Justiciar—a card which had been in the restricted category prior to these latest changes.

Finally, six cards had previously been either banned, restricted, or semi-restricted but will now have all restrictions removed. These cards are Summon Sorceress, Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm, Rite of Aramesir, Infernity Launcher, Change of Heart, and Girsu, the Orcust Mekk-Knight.

Summon Sorceress had previously been completely banned but will now have all restrictions dropped. All five other cards just mentioned, meanwhile, will go from being semi-restricted to unrestricted.
