With the next rotation of the Pokémon TCG about to take place, many players are carefully considering which cards are likely to stand out in the new metagame environment. Based on recent tournament results, the Iron Hands from the Future Flash [SV4M] expansion set is likely to emerge as one of the upcoming rotation’s staples.

This card’s signature attack is Amp You Very Much, which deals 120 damage for four Energy cards. While on the surface this may seem relatively unimpressive, this attack’s standout feature lies in its side effect. If Amp You Very Much is used to score a KO on the opposing Pokémon, the player gets to take two Prize cards instead of one.

By pairing Iron Hands ex with cards such as Iron Crown ex, Future Booster Energy Capsule, and Miraidon—all cards from Cyber Judge [SV5M]—the futuristic descendant of Hariyama will be well-positioned to jack its damage output all the way up and tear through opponents’ decks at a breakneck pace. This deck’s tournament results have been promising thus far and are expected to further improve in the coming rotation.

Visually, this Special Art Rare [SAR] card features a Full Art illustration. On this card, Iron Hands ex is shown amidst ruins, alluding to its status as a futuristic Paradox Pokémon. It’s implied that the ruins are those of present-day Paldea. Iron Hands ex is also depicted forcing itself through the ruins’ walls, perhaps referencing its secondary type of Fighting.

This card’s English version is 248/182 of the Paradox Rift [PAR] set.

One copy of an Iron Hands ex (Future Flash [SV4M] 088/066) card of SAR rarity and in peak condition is worth ¥19,690 (~US$130).
