[Pokémon TCG] The Bane of Every Bench: Collapsed Stadium (Lost Abyss [S11] 127/100)
Expect this card to see a lot more tournament use after the next rotation takes effect.
Stadium cards have always been among the most vital in the Pokémon TCG—the well-timed use of one that synergizes perfectly with a player’s deck can make the difference between victory and defeat. Currently, the Collapsed Stadium card ranks among the foremost Stadium cards in the current meta.
First printed as part of the Star Birth [S9] set and reprinted in Ultra Rare (UR) form in Lost Abyss [S11], Collapsed Stadium can equally be used as an offensive and defensive tool. This card limits both players’ maximum number of Benched Pokémon to four—any additional ones at the time this Stadium card is played are to be discarded.
When playing defense, a player can use this card to save a Benched Pokémon at risk of being picked off. It’s also possible to use this Stadium card to shorten the opponent’s Bench, making it easier to score a KO one of theirs by pairing it with an Active Pokémon with an attack that targets Benched Pokémon. Additionally, following the coming rotation that’ll remove Path to the Peak from tournament play, this card is likely to gain further prominence within the metagame.
This card’s UR version from Lost Abyss [S11] suits this card’s status as a key component of many tournament-winning decks with its gold border and outlines. That same gold outline gives the card something of a “vintage” look that pairs very well with the illustration of the stadium ruins depicted in the illustration.
In English, this card is card 215/196 from the Lost Origin expansion set.
The price of a Collapsed Stadium (Lost Abyss [S11] 127/100) card of UR rarity is ¥3,180 (~US$21).
