[ONE PIECE Card Game] The “Fire Fist” Blazes Brightly: Portgas D. Ace (Paramount War [OP02-013])
Who wouldn't get excited for a Manga Rare?
In every ONE PIECE Card Game set, the biggest pulls are by far what are colloquially known as “Manga Rare” cards. So named because they feature scenes from the One Piece manga in the background, “Manga Rare” cards rank among the rarest and most prized in the entire ONE PIECE Card Game. In the Paramount War [OP-02] booster pack, the card that was given this coveted rarity was this Portgas D. Ace card.
Depicting the Whitebeard Pirates’ commander imbued with the powers of the Flame-Flame Fruit, this Super Rare Special (SR-SP) card’s holofoil adds further visual spectacle to the card. The holofoil gives the flames surrounding Ace a spectrum-like effect. Even the flames around his fingers appear to be lit up in rainbow colors.
The illustration depicts Ace during the Summit War Saga—the story arc which the manga background is also taken from. The saga is one of the most iconic in the entire series and known for its highly emotionally-charged ending. This likely further elevates the card’s value.
This card has already been released in English.
A Portgas D. Ace (Paramount War [OP02-013]) card doesn’t come cheap—as of the latest figures, one copy goes for the impressive sum of ¥190,000 (~US$1,255).
