The final sub-expansion of the eighth generation of the Pokémon TCG, VSTAR Universe [S12a] emphasized many Hisuian Pokémon—those originating from the Hisui region which canonically was what the Sinnoh region was called centuries ago.

However, one of the set’s star attractions proved to be a Legendary Pokémon from the franchise’s second generation. The Special Art Rare (SAR) version of Suicune V today remains among the most desired cards from VSTAR Universe [S12a].

The card’s dark background gives the card and the Pokémon it represents a mysterious and stately aura. This effect is amplified by the effect of the card’s holofoil. Suicune V is positioned forward-facing at a slight diagonal angle as it strides forth, completing the powerful, majestic imagery.

Going back to the card’s holofoil, the aurora-like effect that it provides is likely an allusion to Suicune’s designation as the Aurora Pokémon. Although its fellow Legendary Beasts Entei and Raikou have SAR cards of their own in this set, this card’s unique characteristics have given this card additional value compared to those of the other members of its trio.

The English version of this card is GG38/GG70 of the Crown Zenith set.
