Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Yubel

Among the most iconic antagonists of the entire Yu-Gi-Oh franchise, Yubel made a return in the Phantom Nightmare Core Booster. Supporting cards for the Yubel archetype were also introduced for the very first time in that Core Booster. For those playing or collecting the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG in Japanese, Korean, or Simplified Chinese, Konami had a surprise in store.

The first print runs of Phantom Nightmare boxes in those languages came with a Phantom Nightmare +1 Bonus Pack supplementary booster pack. One card in particular wasn’t obtainable in the Core Booster—only in the booster pack: this Yubel card. It was this exclusivity that helped jack up its value—especially so with regard to its Quarter Century Secret Rare form.

This card depicts the Duel Monster Spirit well before his memorable fusion with Jaden Yuki. It pairs well with many of the cards from the Core Booster which introduced to the TCG supporting cards for the Yubel archetype.

Unable to be destroyed by battle and immune to battle damage, this Yubel card is a defensive powerhouse. In addition, it can be used to Special Summon a Yubel – Terror Incarnate card from the player’s hand, deck, or Graveyard.

This card has since had an English release.

A Quarter Century Secret Rare version of the Yubel (Phantom Nightmare +1 Bonus Pack PHNI-JPS01) card sells for ¥12,800 (~US$87).
