It isn’t often that an item card becomes one of the most expensive and sought-after cards of any set. However, this Ultra Rare (UR) version of Counter Catcher from the Future Flash [SV4M] Pokémon TCG expansion set clearly bucks this trend. Originally released as a mere Uncommon (U) card in the seventh-generation Awakened Heroes [SM4S] expansion, Counter Catcher is now back in all its Full Art UR glory.

Counter Catcher is a fairly basic gusting card that can be plugged into nearly any deck. A player who’s behind can use it to swap the opposing Pokémon they’re facing and create a favorable matchup from a tough spot, helping to perhaps kickstart a comeback.

The card’s gold-colored background imbues it with a sense of prestige, while the blue arrows in the illustration that surround it make it seem as though it’s actively switching the opposing Pokémon. This card will likely become a metagame staple and probably be reprinted multiple times throughout the rest of the ninth generation—and perhaps beyond.

This card’s English version is card 264/182 of the Paradox Rift [PAR] expansion set.
