The Experimental Nike Jordan One Take 5 “White/Royal” Calls Back a Classic
The design takes an unconventional approach—but since when has Russell Westbrook himself ever been "conventional"?
Russell Westbrook’s One Take shoe line, a more affordable counterpart to his “Why Not” series, will add fresh perspective and a touch of experimentation. The Nike Jordan One Take 5 “White/Royal” will be one of the first colorways of the Los Angeles Clippers guard’s One Take 5 series.
The One Take 5 contains disruptive design elements that more than make up for the details absent on the Why Not 6. For example, the “White/Royal” has contrasting eyestays which are made of translucent plastic on the exterior and matte suede on the interior.
The upper features a color palette of white, off-white, and grey. There are also royal blue accents on the sawtooth stitching, Westbrook family branding, and specific eyelets. Interestingly, the interplay of colors was specifically chosen to allude to the iconic Jordan 4 “Military Blue”.
While the release date for the Nike Jordan One Take 5 “White/Royal” hasn’t yet been confirmed, it will be sold on Nike.com and select retailers. Its retail price is US$100.
