Sashiko, a traditional Japanese stitching method used to reinforce and repair clothing and other textiles, is widely known for its durability and heritage design. In the realm of sneakers, brands have also opted to utilize the Japanese craft on their products to create a unique aesthetic.
Following what we’ve seen with Air Jordan 1 Low Sashiko “Multi-Color” and Levi’s x Crocs All-Terrain Clog, New Balance is also set to offer a Sashiko pack with their coveted 550 and 580 footwear models.
Images surfaced showcase the two pairs dressed in classic shades of denim blue throughout its upper, decorated with Sashiko stitching. Attached to the shoelaces comes a detachable half zip denim patch, allowing for more styling versatility.
Now available for purchase via NB Grey concept stores in China, global release dates have yet to be confirmed for this New Balance Sashiko pack. Rest assured when more info surfaces, we will keep you informed here so stay tuned for further updates.
