Jacquemus Surprises With the “Bright Mandarin” Nike J Force 1 Low LX SP
Another collision between high fashion and sports.
Jacquemus may primarily be known for his innovative and avant-garde womenswear, but his recent foray into footwear has been well noted.
Since last year, he’s reimagined the Nike Air Humara in “Light Bone”, “Ale Brown”, and “Pink Flash”. And this year saw the release of the Nike J Force 1, the designer’s retrofitting of the iconic Air Force 1. Succeeding the “Black” and “White” colorways is the titular “Bright Mandarin”.
The pair is imbued with a bright orange hue. And deviating from the blueprint of its leather-clad predecessors, it boasts instead a breathable mesh base contrasted with plush suede overlays.
Adding to its allure, metallic gold embellishments are introduced on the JF1 lace dubrae as well as the signature mini Swoosh on the quarter. The juxtaposition of the white laces and the textile interwoven into the sole provides a strong contrast against its base palette.
The outsole of its AF1 canvas has been overhauled too, substituted by the hallmark waffle traction pattern the Swoosh originally made their name from.
The pair is currently sold out on the Jacquemus website but a Nike SNKRS release is expected to take place sometime in the holiday season with a price tag of US$220. Stay tuned for more details!
In the meantime, check out the fragment design x Nike Zoom Spiridon set to arrive in 2024.
