Ice and Fire Meet on the ASICS GT-2160 x Tomo Kogarashi
Embodying the Japanese concept of "kogarashi", where summer meets winter, and warm meets cold.
ASICS TOMO is a collaborative project between the brand and their TOMO accounts, which are a select group of retailers around the world that share a passion for ASICS shoes and culture. It takes after the Japanese concept of “TOMO”, meaning “friend” or “companion”.
One such “friend” is Stockholm-based, pioneering streetwear boutique SNS, together breathing new life into the GT-2160. Many collaborators have taken on the silhouette this year, from the likes of Kiko Kostadinov, Cecilie Bahnsen, and Dime—in addition to a few more.
But SNS makes their effort distinct by taking the Japanese concept of kogarashi. A concept that signifies where summer meets winter, and warm meets cold.
It’s materialized through the colorway, wherein a blend of icy hues and warm earthy tones dress the pair. From its mesh base and synthetic overlays, through to the segmented midsole design and rubber outsole.
The ASICS GT-2160 x Tomo Kogarashi is scheduled for release on 21 October with an RRP of US$150. Look out for them on SNS’ website then!
