The Nike Terminator High and “Slim & Husky’s Pizza” Come Together in Honor of Tennessee State University
A local pizza chain in Nashville founded by TSU graduates.
[Update 9 Nov 2023] We are set to see a release of the Nike Terminator High “Slim & Husky’s Pizza”! The pair will arrive on 10 November via Nike and select retailers with a retail price tag of US$125. Don’t miss out on this release!
Nike’s commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) has made way for some special shoes and even monetary donations. In continuance, they turn their focus to Tennessee State University for a unique interpolation of the Nike Terminator High. As opposed to a direct nod to the institution, the Swoosh partners with Slim & Husky’s Pizza, a local pizza chain in Nashville founded by TSU graduates.
Striking red and blue hues captures the spirit of TSU, alongside the animal print overlays, and the “1912” (the school’s founding year) embroidery on the forefoot.
The nod is manifested even further through the logo on the insoles, the “T” patch on the heel, and the phrase “GET GEEK’D” on the underside of the tongue. The aesthetic comes together with the disparate imprint of the pizza chain’s name on the tongue tag and the laces adorning the words “THE BOYS” on one, and “TIGERBELLES” on the other.
The Nike Terminator High “Slim & Husky’s Pizza” is set to be released within the coming months although no firm release date has been disclosed yet. But stay tuned, it should be announced within the coming weeks.
Elsewhere, here’s another HBCU-dedicated sneaker, check out the Nike Terminator High “Alabama A&M University”.
