Doja Cat Is Dropping Her Own Skechers Shoes
Aptly named the Doja'Lite.
Doja Cat’s latest album, Scarlet, is set to drop this Friday, 22 September. This marks her fourth studio album, and one that many are looking forward to. What better way to celebrate the launch of her new album than with her very own Skechers silhouette?
Indeed, the rapper has linked up with Skechers to create a brand new shoe. Reimagining the footwear brand’s classic D’Lites silhouette, the duo have aptly named the new collaborative shoe: the Doja’Lite.
Featuring materials handpicked by Doja Cat herself, the Doja’Lite’s shape largely follows its inspiration, save for its new up-tooled leather upper and translucent outsoles. The sole unit seems to have been enlarged ever so slightly, now featuring wavy lines all throughout the lateral side of the shoe. In total, there will be five colorways for the Doja’Lite.
“To design something inspired by the iconic sneaker my peers wore back in the day—Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera—I feel like I am a part of history,” Doja Cat said about the new collaboration. Indeed, this affinity with Skechers runs deep, with the award-winning musician repping a pair of Skechers D’Lites at Coachella last year.
The Doja Cat x Skechers Doja’Lite will officially launch on 28 September via Skechers at a retail price of US$125. That being said, StockX has announced a special pre-release on 21 September via the app for the white and black colorways.
