[Update 25 Sep 2023] Following leaks of the sample pairs earlier on, adidas officially pulls the curtains back on Anthony Edwards’ first signature shoe—the adidas AE1. Unveiled during his Homecoming Celebration at the Tracy Watt Recreation Center in his hometown, Atlanta.
Speed and agility take precedence in Edwards’ signature sneaker. It features a unique TPU overlay that is precisely contoured to improve support during Edward’s quick, multidirectional motions while maintaining adequate airflow.
Moreover, a flexible knit upper and a distinctive split tongue design proves to be a distinctive touch, alongside the directional herringbone blades and the BOOST cushioning technology.
There’s no release date yet but they are expected to arrive sometime in the holiday season. Expect to see more on the feet of the Ant-Man once the NBA seasons opens at the end of October. Stay tuned!
Anthony Edwards may look like a young Michael Jordan, and soon he might start having a career like His Airness too. At just 22, he’s made it to the All-Star team while averaging 25 points per game. Although the Timberwolves may have fell short this season, Anthony Edwards will return the next likely in his first signature shoe with adidas.
There isn’t a name disclosed yet but it may likely be known as the “adidas Ant Man 1”, alluding to Edwards’ nickname. Based on these images that’ve surfaced on @ucornhoops, the shoe is presumed to debut in two colorways. Notably, the aesthetic seem to borrow elements from the adidas Harden Vol. 7 and the YEEZY QNTM.
A substantial TPU overlay with vented perforations that blend into the sole unit; with the model divided into two pieces, one of which has an upper bootie that is suctioned. The Three Stripes logo is imprinted prominently on the heel.
There isn’t much known about the pair besides what can be discerned from the leaks. The images at least ascertains that the Ant Man will have his own signature. More details should surface leading up to the NBA season in a few months so stay tuned!
