[Update 17 Aug 2023] The ASICS GEL-Quantum Kinetic “Carbon Pure Gold” will officially make its debut in Japan on 24 August, via BAIT. Stay tuned for more release details for the other colorways.

[Update 7 Aug 2023] It seems like we are not getting one, but three pairs of the ASICS GEL-Quantum Kinetic. Arriving alongside the initial “Carbon Pure Gold” comes a “Dark Sepia Shamrock” and “Birch Dark Taupe” iteration of the silhouette.

The pairs are said to drop via select ASICS retailers on 18 August. In the meantime, take a look at the latest images while we anticipate the official release.

LINE

ASICS may have planted their roots as performance footwear makers but they’ve over the years become a steady fixture in the fashion landscape. Their inline releases have been riding off the inertia created by their collaborations. Recent ones including efforts with Cecilie Bahnsen and KITH.

Adding to the aforementioned two, one of their biggest assists came from Kiko Kostadinov, who has produced a range of original designs for the Japanese brand. A few of which inspired the titular GEL-Quantum Kinetic, the latest in ASICS’ inline catalogue.

The model is presented as “Carbon Pure Gold”, aptly named. It features an intricate design with a multi-material construction of mesh and other synthetics. Burgundy hues, industrial greys, silver, and gold all work in tandem to address the silhouette’s many components and its metallic finishes on the overlays.

The design is completed with the integration of an aesthetically aggressive sole unit, split between amber on the midsoles, and black on the outsoles.

They’re currently available on Titolo Sneaker Boutique’s website for 289.90 EUR (~US$320). But whether a wide release is planned isn’t known. If you are convinced though, head over. At the time of writing, larger sizes have already been sold out.

Elsewhere, A VICTOR VICTOR x New Balance collaboration is in the works.
