Kith and its founder Ronnie Fieg have always had a knack for working with popular TV shows/movie franchises. Having come off its big Star Wars collaboration on May the 4th (4 May), the boutique retailer now has a massive collection lined up. Together with Marvel, the duo are set to create an extensive X-Men collection in celebration of the franchise’s 60th anniversary.

Kith x Marvel X-Men x ASICS GEL-Lyte III Collection

Headlining the collection is a three-way collaboration with Japanese shoemakers ASICS, producing seven custom Remastered GEL-Lyte IIIs themed after popular X-Men characters. This includes Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, Storm, and two versions of Wolverine—namely the OG 1975 version and the 1980 iteration.

What makes it interesting is that you are not able to purchase any colorway specifically. Inspired by Fieg’s love for collecting trading cards when he was young, these ASICS come in a collectible blind box, designed to resemble the original X-Men trading card packaging.

Kith x Marvel X-Men x Upper Deck x PSA Cards

Alongside the ASICS GEL-Lyte IIIs, Marvel and Kith are also working with trading card producers Upper Deck and card grading company Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) to recreate the OG Uncanny X-Men trading cards from 1992. The cards come encased in PSA slabs, feature Marvel and Kith co-branding, and also come in a variety of rarities. These come inside the ASICS GEL-Lyte III boxes that matches with the character’s shoes. To make this even more special, this is the first time PSA has allowed another brand’s logo on the grading tab.

Kith x Marvel X-Men x Modernica | Kith x Marvel X-Men x Arcade1Up

This Kith x Marvel X-Men Collection will also include two custom Fiberglass Shell Chairs from Modernica, and also a full custom retro arcade machine with Arcade1Up. These collaborative items will drop alongside Kith’s in-house vintage graphic tees and other apparels, featuring some of X-Men‘s most popular characters.

It’s a huge collection, and definitely one to be excited for. This Kith x Marvel X-Men Collection will launch publicly on 28 July, while the Arcade1Up arcade machine will drop 4 days earlier on 24 July. But that’s not all—attendees of the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con from 20 to 23 July will get an earlier chance to purchase the collection, as Kith and Marvel will be there to host an exclusive pop-up.
