The Nike Air Penny 2 Emerges in the Annoyingly Popular “Panda” Colorway
A monochromatic palette can hardly go wrong.
The 1996–1997 NBA season saw Nike Basketball unveil the Air Penny 2, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway’s second signature. Three decades later, the Swoosh continues to perpetuate the pair’s legend through collaborations with the likes of Social Status, and general releases of new colorways, including this latest “Panda” makeup.
A palette of White and Black create the popular “Panda” aesthetic. The make of the titular shoes sees a combination of mesh, leather, and nubuck. Dual pull tabs, distinctive “Penny” branding on the tongue and heels; the Nike Basketball icon on the footbed, all work in tandem for nice detailing on the pair. The overall look is rounded off with a white midsole atop a black rubber outsole.
A release date hasn’t been disclosed but expect them to arrive within the coming year for US$210.
