Don’t Hibernate on These Nike Lahar Low “Teddy Bear”
This "Teddy Bear" is ready to go back to its natural habitat with these outdoor-ready shoes.
Goldilocks will have found her three bears with the Nike Lahar Low joining the Swoosh’s “Teddy Bear” pack with the Air Max 97 and the Dunk Low. The silhouette may have been designed for the terrain outside the city, but this contemporary, fashion-forward iteration is set to conquer the grounds of the urban jungle.
The women’s exclusive shoe stomps in with a heavy-duty outsole but goes for a massive switch up in energy up top. The upper arrives dressed in soft tonal shades of pink while maintaining the toughness of its pedigree. Derived from the 1989 Lahar Escape Boot, its rugged spirit comes through the metal eyelets and tread laces.
Suede claims most of the real estate on the upper, giving the pair more elegance than its forebear has. Soft pink serves as the base layer. Complementary to it are the overlays on the eye stays and the mudguard that covers the circumference. Pull tabs on the spine and lateral heel gives the shoe a more functional aesthetic. For the finishing touches, the teddy bear motif is introduced through the aforementioned pull tab on the lateral heel, as well as the insoles.
A release date has yet to be disclosed but they’re expected to drop on Nike.com within the year with a RRP of US$130.
Elsewhere in this concrete jungle, if there’s a bear, then there must be a rabbit too. Check out next year’s Nike Dunk Low “Year of the Rabbit”.
