mita sneakers and Puma Partners for a Disc Blaze OG MS “Ueno Panda”
Inspired by the Giant Pandas from Ueno Zoo.
Never thought we would see a Panda-related footwear that isn’t Nike, but Japanese sneaker retailer mita sneakers and sportswear label Puma have joined forces for an upcoming release with the Disc Blaze OG MS “Ueno Panda”.
Looking to mita sneakers’ base location of Ueno, Tokyo, the collaborative pair is inspired by the famous Giant Pandas located within Ueno Zoo. Therefore, a prominent black and white color scheme has been utilized throughout its textile uppers, with acrylic fur accents on the toe box to reference to the aforementioned animals.
Subtle design elements hint its origins, including hidden “UENO” logos on the heel counters alongside insoles which feature bamboo leaves and mita sneakers’ iconic Chain Link Fence graphics.
Slated to release on 27 May, the mita sneakers x Puma Disc Blaze OG MS “Ueno Panda” is expected to be made available via mita sneakers, Puma and select retailers for 22,000 JPY (~US$160).
