Porsche Design Engages PUMA for the Tech-Forward 3D MTRX Trainers
Premium footwear with an innovative 3D sole unit, carbon fiber plate, and leather construction.
PUMA and Porsche Design, the automaker’s production division known for its high-performance ready-to-wear apparel and accessories, come together for the 3D MTRX Sneaker. The mode trainer melds its 3D-printed sole unit with its fashion-and-tech-forward design.
The midsole’s architecture features a lattice design, reminiscent of Porsche Design’s distinctive iconography. Created with performance, durability, and comfort at the fore, comes the shoe’s ground-breaking “Superior Energy Return” recovery system. The tech supports organic running motions and reserves 83% of a runner’s energy with horizontal forward movements.
Premium full-grain leather forms the upper, along with the evoKNIT textile inner giving it a sock-like fit. Numerous air-filled cubes are integrated in the grid structure of the trainers, which together with the flexible grid struts help to optimize comfort.
The two colorways are sized from UK 7.5 to UK 12, and comes in monochrome black and white finishes. They’re available now at Porsche Design’s website for US$430.
