American designer, artist, and blogger Cali DeWitt wears many hats. And they’re more like thinking caps as he exercises his genius to introduce a new take to a contemporary classic—that is the adidas NMD S1. From its multi-material construction, to its various finishes, the two colorways produced is a reflection of his unorthodox thinking.

The sleek black and white color palettes used in the NMD S1 sneaker are reversed versions of one another. Both black and white variants have uniform bases and tonal footbeds with grey sock collars and lacing systems, adding a touch of color variations. DeWitt’s bold, abstract speckled artwork, which graces the profiles of the midsole and Primeknit uppers, elevates the aesthetic and gives it a sharper edge. Dewitt’s autograph is also imprinted onto the footbed, marking his influence on the project.

A release date hasn’t been confirmed but it’s projected to be within the year. When the powers that be says it’s time, find them on adidas’ brick-and-click, or likely on their CONFIRMED app, with an RRP of US$250.
