ballaholic and ASICS Team Up for the GEL-LYTE III OG “Harvest Pumpkin”
Engineered in Japan, made for the whole world.
[Update 15 May 2023] The collaborative ballaholic and ASICS GEL-LYTE III sold out immediately when it first dropped. If you missed your chance, they’re now available at HBX for US$150. Of course, it’s also up on the SNKRDUNK App. Go get ’em!
Ballaholic and ASICS, both Japanese-made, team up once more following up their last effort on the EX89, that’s preceded by the GLIDE NOVA FF 2 and GEL-1130. The GEL-LYTE III OG originally debuted as a runner in the early-1990s and has since been a staple in ASICS’ catalogue. This time, it’s adapted to the basketball lifestyle label’s specifications.
Arriving in a brown “Harvest Pumpkin” throughout, it’s carefully accented by various colors on the upper. There’s the green and yellow panels on the mudguard, the green and amazon green disparate on the heel mould, as well as the multi-colored emblem embroidered on the tongue. Moreover, the thematic words regal the pair with a golden finish. There’s the “ballaholic” on the lateral heel; and the “Ball On Journey” on the medial heel of the right pair, and “2023” on the left.
ASICS’ branding takes over the heel tab by way of a uniform embroidery. Lastly, on the footbed, the two take a shoe each to lay their claim. Similarly underfoot, sees the green and amazon green taking on each side on the outsole.
ASICS will be having the pair up for raffle from 4 April through to 9 April with ballaholic starting pre-sale on 15 April. They’re set to carry a price tag of JPY17,600 (~US$130).
