He’s on Fire: Nike Air Jordan 1 Low “Born To Fly”
Featuring hand-drawn flaming Swoosh logos.
“He’s on fire!” is a common phrase you’ll hear on NBA commentary from time to time. It’s used to describe players who find their rhythm during a game, draining buckets in rapid succession. It’s often used in conjunction with some of the NBA’s greats, and there’s no avoiding Michael Jordan when we have this conversation.
For this upcoming Nike Air Jordan 1 offering, Jordan Brand is offering up a pair of kids’ exclusive kicks that aptly describes His Airness: “Born To Fly”.
While traditional in its leather construction, this silhouette sees the usage of hand-drawn flaming lateral Swooshes, giving rise to its name. Elsewhere, the color palette of the Air Jordan 1 Low serves up a fiery aesthetic.
A clean white is used on the base of the uppers with a jet-black overlay as its pairing, giving ample room for the rest of the design to blaze. Pops of orange appear on the eyestays and tongue lining, while red takes on the heel of the shoe.
On its medial side, “Born To Fly” is inscribed above the Swoosh, along with graphics of hand signs on skateboards, a nod to the two sports that the Nike umbrella has excelled in.
