Jeff Staple Teases a New Collaboration With Mr Sabotage at Sneaker Con SEA
Working together for the third time at Sneaker Con SEA.
[Update 27 March 2023] Mr Sabotage recently took to SBTG’s Instagram to reveal what’s behind the works between him and Jeff Staple: a custom Nike Air Jordan 1 High. In the video, Mr Sabotage looks to be applying the final touches for one of the pairs.
Coming in a two-tone grey upper, it looks like the Swoosh has been decked out in Staple and SBTG’s iconic artwork. The tongue tab has also been changed to reflect the duo’s brandings. As seen on the earlier image, the heel is also expected to carry the iconic Staple Pigeon and Sabotage motifs.
How they’re planning to release them is still unknown, however it will most definitely only be at Sneaker Con SEA. Stay tuned as we’ll bring you the latest on this release as well as in-hand photos at Sneaker Con SEA!
Sneaker Con SEA is right around the corner. In case you weren’t aware, “The Greatest Show on Earth” will soon celebrate its Southeast Asia debut in Singapore on 1-2 April. Just like us here at SNKRDUNK, brands and personalities alike are in the midst of our final preparations for the event.
Of course, one of the “can’t miss” happenings at Sneaker Con SEA would most definitely be the appearance of the man himself, Jeff Staple. While it’s been announced that Staple will be coming to Singapore, not much is known about what he’s planning to do at the event—that is, until today.
Taking to his Instagram, Jeff Staple proudly presented a teaser of a collaboration with Singapore’s very own Mark Ong, aka Mr Sabotage. Although simple in nature, his photo has sent the community in a frenzy.
While a decorative pin featuring both brands’ take center stage on the image, a small glimpse of the heel of the new shoe can be seen. It’s not enough to exactly make out what it is, but Mr. Sabotage’s iconic camouflage design as well as the infamous Staple Pigeon are both present.
This isn’t the first time the duo have come together. Back in 2019, the two joined forces to create a special custom on the Nike Air Force 1 Low, dubbed the “Pigeon Fury”. Limited to just 50 pairs, they were raffled off for free to the world. A year later, they released a second similar design on a Nike Dunk High.
While it’s not immediately clear what they’re working on this time around, one thing’s for certain. Expect the shoe to be highly limited and handmade, as per their previous collaborations.
Stay tuned as we’ll bring you the latest as soon as we get them. In the meantime, if you are coming down to Sneaker Con SEA, check out what SNKRDUNK is bringing to the table. Psst, we’ll let you in on a secret: we’re holding a raffle you don’t want to miss.
