There’s nothing in this world that’s beyond the reach of Nike when it comes to drawing sources for inspiration. Consider the legendary “Tiffany” Diamond Supply Co. collaboration; in recent memory, Concepts’ “Lobster” series, the upcoming Jarritos‘; and the recently-teased Powerpuff Girls.

And for a first, a link bridge between jiu-jitsu and skateboarding: the titular Albino & Preto x Nike SB Dunk Low. A&P is a premium Brazilian jiu-jitsu apparel brand and their maiden effort with Nike is finally coming to fruition; with a first look was teased by its founder Arvie Gimeno on Instagram. While it’s the only Rosetta Stone at the time of writing, it’s enough to discern what it could possibly look like holistically.

Therein depicted is an in-hand closeup of one side, the other washed out by the boket of the camera, save for the colors that form a vague shape. Nevertheless, the pair features an upper similar in make as the standard gi/kimono of the sport, or more similarly to its belts. It appears in a uniform cream color throughout from the base layer to the overlays, and laces.

Moreover its most notable aspects, there’s the decorative stitching that embellish the shoe from fore to heel. Adding another dynamic are the contrast profile Swooshes in black that nods to the brands “Albino” and “Preto” (white and black in Portuguese) markers that reference the beginner and master levels in BJJ.

They should emerge from the pipeline soon ascertained by the photo of the physical pair surfacing. When more information does come to light, expect to find them here at this very page.

While it’s keeping our attention in a chokehold, try and escape from it and check out the Nike Air Max 1 “Black Toe”.
