Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and it’s certainly proven by Yohji Yamamoto and adidas’ collaborative Y-3 label. The Atelier collection, launched earlier this year, takes this principle to new heights, utilizing innovative design techniques and meticulous craftsmanship to bring a fresh perspective to their products.

Offering the first sneaker from the series, the duo introduces the Y-3 Itogo, a somewhat stripped down version of the highly sought-after Qasa model. Without any use of adhesive, the pair boasts a Primeknit upper that is stitched to a rubber cup sole, supported by an elastic strap that wraps around it.

Details are kept simple, with Yohji Yamamoto’s branding decorating the underside of the Boost midsole, heels, as well as textile upper. Five numbered imprints of 成分 (seibun) found throughout also signify the total amount of materials used in the construction process, which explains the connection of the terms ‘Ito’ (thread) and ‘go’ (five).

Officially slated to release on 16 March, grab your pair of Y-3 Itogo via adidas, Y-3 and select retailers now at a price of 84,700 JPY (~US$640).
