DEUX, the legendary 90s hip-hop duo from South Korea, will be celebrating their 30th anniversary on 1 April. Celebrations are in place including the re-release of their greatest hits album “DEUX FOREVER” in cassette tape format. Next up—a special two-pack collaboration with Vans Korea.

In the short few years that DEUX was active, they brought hip-hop music and culture to the forefront. To this day, their influence can still be felt on the next generation of musicians, including world-famous BTS and the like.

For the DEUX x Vans collab, the partners reinterpreted two of Vans’ most recognizable models—the Authentic and Old Skool—with signature DEUX elements.

Coming in black, the DEUX x Vans Authentic is awash with references to DEUX. The DEUX text logo has been spliced into two halves and featured on the right and left foot respectively. “DEUX” is printed in black on the left midsole; and on the right midsole you’ll find the word “FOREVER”. Laces with all-over “DEUX FOREVER” print wraps atop a tongue featuring Vans’ Checkerboard motif.

The DEUX x Vans Old Skool features a half-suede, half-Checkerboard construction. Similar to the Authentic, DEUX’s Old Skool midsoles and laces are also prominently printed with the words “DEUX FOREVER”. To drive home the point further, “DEUX FOREVER” appears once more, debossed at the forefoot. At the rear, the duo’s black-and-white dartboard logo and text logo adorn the left and right shoe.

When you flip both shoes over, you will find the text “DEUXISM” printed across the entire outsole. Yet another nod to the hip-hop duo—this time referencing their influential second album. Alongside the drop of the DEUX x Vans collection, there will also be a limited release of a special edition vinyl that comes along with each purchase.

The DEUX x Vans Authentic and Old Skool are priced at 105,000 won (~USD80) and 115,000 won (~USD87) and will release on 24 March through the official DEUX website and Vans Korea.
