[Update 4 Aug 2023] Following its previous teaser, the FTMD. x Vans collection has now been officially revealed. Take a look at the latest images of the collaborative Half Cab and Sk8 Low while we anticipate their arrival on 10 August via Futuremade.

[Update 3 Aug 2023] The Futuremade Studio x Vans collab is upon us with both Vans and the Malaysian label posting teaser videos of the shoes. In the teaser, two pairs of FTMD. x Vans sneakers can be spotted: a Half Cab and a Sk8 Low.

Both pairs feature earthy tones of brown and cream, nodding to the brand’s utilitarian aesthetic and origins. Earlier, Futuremade’s founder Tunway was spotted wearing the Sk8 Low. The collaborative pairs will drop on 10 August but the price has not been confirmed.

Futuremade Studio (FTMD.) has been creating major waves in recent years. The Malaysian streetwear brand, founded and helmed by YouTuber Tunway Yeoh, has seen its minimalistic and utilitarian-inspired pieces spread far outside Malaysia’s borders, especially within Chinese-speaking countries. It’s not just streetwear enthusiasts who are fond of FTMD. either. Footwear brands have also caught on with the fast-rising label.

Tunway, better known by his nickname 小屁孩 (Xiao Pi Hai, “little naughty boy” in English), has worked with the likes of Reebok and Puma. Most recently, FTMD. and Reebok worked on a Club C Revenge, which drew inspiration from the great outdoors.

It seems like another massive footwear company is set to fall under Tunway’s spell. Taking to his Instagram, FTMD.’s founder recently teased a brand new sneaker collaboration in the works—with none other than skateboarding giants Vans.

While the image doesn’t give much away in terms of what silhouette is being worked on, it does seem like the collaboration might involve more than one colorway. In the picture, two shoes featuring different colored sole units in white and cream take center stage. A gigantic “FTMD.” branding appears across the entirety of the foot, well kept under a translucent outsole.

Not much else has been announced about the collaboration, but the image was enough to receive dozens of fire-emojis in the comments. It’s clear that fans of the brand are eager to find out more about the upcoming sneaker. We’ll be sure to update this page as soon as we get more information.
