Every season, COMME des GARÇONS, the umbrella group of brands under Rei Kawakubo, and Nike come together to revisit some of the lesser known styles from Nike’s archives and breathe new life into these forgotten models.

Last year, we witnessed the reintroduction of the Nike Air Max Sunder and Nike Eagle to the world, amongst other offerings. This Fall 2023, BLACK COMME des GARÇONS is reinterpreting the obscure 70s silhouette Nike Tennis Classic in CDG’s signature black and white hues.

But that’s not all—another upcoming COMME des GARÇONS x Nike collaborative sneaker that has somehow managed to escape our radar is the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Pegasus 2005.

As expected, the avant garde Japanese label has decided to dress two pairs of the Air Pegasus 2005 in all black and all white respectively. Not only that, Nike’s Y2K runner is stripped back further with COMME des GARÇONS removing the Peg 2005’s defining vented midfoot saddle and most of its toebox paneling details.

While COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS branding is nowhere to be seen, most of Peg 2005’s have been retained, including the “AIR PEGASUS” branding on the tongue label and heel, and the text “FULL-LENGTH NIKE AIR” at the midsole. Constructed using regular mesh and leather, the end results are a duo of almost-too-simple sneakers.

While the price of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Pegasus 2005 is still unavailable, you can expect them to drop sometime in November.
